Salutations, Deviants!

As I am typing this journal, it is approximately 2100 hours. Why is it that I get inspired to do journals in the nighttime, especially when I should be in bed? I dunno, it just happens.

Anyway, the ticket situation for New York Comic Con has been a dramatic story. For those of you unfamiliar with the situation, allow me to explain.

NYCC tickets are sole in the following order: online, at Special Edition, and at Midtown Comics (the best comic book shop in my neck of the woods, if you ask me). The online release was a total fiasco. The server kept crashing, just like last year. Granted, it is to be expected when 2000+ people log on to the website at the same time. Some of my associates were using multiple devices to log on to the website to snag tickets (i.e. Desktop & laptop & smartphone). As usual, the 4-day and 3-day tickets were the first to go. I didn't get to do this because the ticket sale started in the Spring at Twelve Noon. I had things to do in the real world, so I couldn't log on. I tried to log on in the afternoon for the heck of it and all I got was a Sunday ticket. Geez, just like last year. But the adventure doesn't end there.

The second way to get NYCC tickets is by attending the Special Edition convention hosted by ReedPop, the ones responsible for New York Comic Con. In this case, I purchased tickets for this event and woke up around 0500 to make darn sure I could get there for the first wave to get tickets for Comic Con. This time, I was successful in getting a 3-day ticket. I had fun looking at Artist Alley, but the line for NYCC tickets was lengthy, to say the least.

Which brings us to today. Today is the day Midtown Comics is selling tickets. As usual, the line was long with people trying to camp out and whatnot. People are upset that ReedPop waited so long to sell the tickets at Midtown and that Midtown is only selling them at Fulton Street (sorry, Times Square lovers). The weird thing, however, is that the line is better organized and the people well behaved. They still have single day tickets as of this writing. Like I said, weird.

So I have a 3-day pass this go-round and I gave the Sunday pass to a friend.

So, guys and gals... who's going to New York Comic Con this year?
