Kronos, Where's Your List?
Salutations, Deviants! As the title says, you're probably wondering why I do a Christmas wish list this year the way I did in the past. For those of you who are new to my page, I used to do a Christmas wish list where I would challenge you to guess which items were real and which items were a joke. However, I wasn't feeling it this year. As stated in previous journals... I'll say it now... I am still unhappy with all the changes made to DeviantArt in recent years. Heck, I know several artists who have left this space for other, more welcoming places. Anyway, in the last few years (probably due to my mental state during the Great Pandemic), I've neglected the annual Christmas wish list. I would do a mock-up of a wish list to illustrate my point, but I'm not feeling it this year. That said, I hope the upcoming year will see more events, which means more photo uploads and maybe, just maybe, I'll upload some of the drawings I've done throughout the year. Yes, I still draw from time to
Must.. Add.. More..
Salutations, Deviants! I have finished with a boatload of photos from all the modeling sessions I did at New York Comic Con and while browsing DeviantArt, I noticed that it's been a while since I uploaded anything awesome to this page. So starting today, I uploaded three pics from a Catwoman shoot I did with the enthusiastic Lexi Cosplay. Also, I'm currently getting permission from the other models I worked with on Comic Con weekend. Saturday was a busy day for me and an interesting one as well. I had to run all over the Javits Center to locate my models who were pretty much scattered about the place. Honestly, I'm amazed I pulled it off! I had five 1-on-1 shoots and I was photographing the DC East Coast Cosplay Group (DC East for short). Besides all the usual superhero cosplay, we had a couple who got engaged at the shoot; one of the Batmen proposed to a Catwoman (not the one I uploaded. Another Catwoman) and she said yes! Everyone was cheerful at that moment. Sunday was an okay
Transition
Salutations, Deviants! For those of you who have been following me for the last five to ten years, if not longer, you have obviously noticed a change in the artwork I create. Starting waaaay back when, around 2004, I have been uploading Anime style artwork. If you were to look through my folders, you can see the growing pains I went through learning the art form. I consider myself fortunate to have received direct instruction from a few fellow DA artists. Thanks to them, my style has improved and continues to improve. "But Kronos", you ask, "Why did you stop uploading pictures?" This is where the transition in this journal's title comes in... Let me explain. Again, if you were to go through my art folders, you'll find a boatload of photos of cosplayers. But how is it that the photos went from choppy to crisp? I've been taking cosplay pics at conventions since 2004 if I remember correctly. However, I didn't get serious about photography as an art medium until 2016 when I got my
Wherefore Art Thou?
Salutations, Deviants! As I sit in front of my computer, checking out random pics here on DeviantArt, I'm looking through a few journals. The thing that grabs me is the date on some of these journals. They pre-date the pandemic. Is it just me, or have some people ceased creating art the day that plague came to pass? Now, I know that some of you are still creating to the best of your ability, as am I. And some of us are behind on journal entries, something I may be guilty of myself. This new journal should change that. Also, I'm in the process of creating new art; I have a photoshoot tomorrow and I look forward to sharing that with you soon. Another thought that popped into my head is that some of the artists I met during my early years on DA are no longer here. It's sad because they were really creative. I followed quite a few of them and for them to no longer be here is a little sad. I'm sure some had their reasons, but as for the rest... I suppose I could look at it this way:
